				Hello,

As many are aware, the region went through a lot of OOC cultural shifts in 2020-21. This was mainly to steer away from/prohibit edgy or otherwise problematic content that we had allowed to become prominent in our off-site platforms. In forcing these cultural shifts, the community experienced a lot of growing pains due to various individuals resisting and attempting to obstruct this progress, resulting in a number of bans and people leaving in anger around the time.

A number of the individuals in that group have, per admin internal agreement, been subjected to a permanent ban. Whether or not this is the case for someone is dependent on the extent and nature of their behavior at the time, and other relevant history. We don't divulge this status (or lack thereof) in public or on third-party request except to other admin teams, but we do to the individuals in question if they ask. For anyone not permanently banned, their ban can be overturned by a unanimous agreement of Community Administrators in consultation with Server Moderators.

Gagium was banned from the Discord and soon after on-site in April 2021 for antagonizing the moderators and breaking server rules regarding problematic language in relation/protest to a previous administrative ban. Nearly two years later, he recently appealed his ban in accordance with the processes outlined in the Community Standards, specifically the appeal subset "review and re-evaluation of an Administrative action against [the party] (example: a user was banned for X violation but believes that time has passed and their behavior has sufficiently changed)".

Upon recieving this appeal, we began internal discussion among staff regarding the reasoning for his ban, time passed, ongoing associations (or lack thereof, including moderation practices other communities Gagium is present in), and other relevant factors. It is our opinion an that,

 - His behavior, while problematic, has since been remedied and was not behavior that would pose a community safety risk, which is why he is being considered for a second chance at all. The behavior that causes the ban remains entirely unacceptable and would result in a ban if done today by another individual.

- The behavior in question took place at a young age that he seems to have matured past.

- Gagium has been in contact with an administrator semi-regularly for ~8 months and displayed an improved understanding of the necessity of good moderation practices and the flaws in his prior behavior, both in terms of problematic language and protesting/conduct regarding moderation decisions.

Having done our due diligence to an extent we view as sufficient, the Community Administrators have decided to rescind Gagium's ban from our platforms.

This decision comes with a number of conditions and will set forth the structure of admin procedure for apppeals, with room for deviation per admin discretion, though we are clarifying it for posterity's sake.

- If we find out Gagium has been dishonest regarding the appeals process, the ban will be permanently reinstated.

- If Gagium repeats any of the behavior regarding problematic language that led to his ban, the ban will be permanetly reinstated. If he repeats any of the behavior regarding disagreement with moderation decisions that led to his ban, he will be given a single warning. If he continues in that instance or another, the ban will be permanently reinstated.

- If we find out Gagium has continued the behavior regarding problematic language that led to his ban in other communities, the ban will be permanently reinstated.

- Gagium will be on probationary status for moderation/administrative action for the forseeable future for any other offenses, and will be expected to re-integrate and conduct himself in the community as it is today in a respectable manner.

As with any other admin procedure, Community Adminstrators maintain discretion to alter or revisit any policy/decision. If you have questions or concerns, please consider whether they are of a publicly-appropriate nature, and either post them in this thread or contact a Community Administrator directly.

Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening to everyone, where you from. I would like to take a moment to thank the League for a amazing past few years. I have been having lots of fun with the great community it has and I'm delighted to say that I been given the amazing role of being the speaker for the League. I will be taking over after Jammy, who has been a great speaker to end the year with and now I'm starting the new year as a speaker. This is a opportunity I will not let to go to waste. I will cherish this role. I may not be the best one, no one is perfect but what matters I will try my hardest to fulfil the role. As the speaker I will be as active as I can to help anyone with questions and such. Making reports that will amaze the world. Being overall a friendly representative and trying to as informative as I can be. This is a great region, which I'm happy to hold this position in.

Opening of the 23rd Council of the Republic
Office of the Consulate

Citizens of The League and Concord,

Welcome to the 23rd Council of the Republic! This term we have 22 members serving, a slight decrease but this roster is composed of more established and active members of the community from what I can tell. It's good to see so many people having once again engaged with the nominations and voting process to form our legislature.

As you all know from our Discord announcement today, @JackEmpire is now the Director of Culture. Naturally, this means we will not be renewing him for another term as Speaker of the Council. We've opted to appoint @Leotropolis/Reykanes as Speaker. They've been around for awhile, mostly as a roleplayer, and we have confidence in them to serve well.

Last term in the Council was admittedly rather quiet, as many other ongoings have been in other areas of the community and government. However, we were able to finally pass Jammy's CRM-5 to amend the Constitution, and the Council had several important briefings and discussions in its advisory role with the creation of the Domestic Security Bureau and the appointment of our newest Director of Foreign Affairs.

The Speaker will have to alert you as to their intentions for domestic legislation, if any, for this term. However, if you have an idea, we encourage you to get out there and share it! The government is a collaborative institution and others will be there to help you. For the executive, I can confirm we have a number of exciting (and possibly surprising) topics to share with you over the coming weeks in both culture and foreign affairs, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Here's to another wonderful term!

Quebecshire, Consul
for the Office of the Consulate

Hello everyone, we have an exciting new administrative project to share!

A common theme in the region over the last year has been infrastructure improvements, be it importing tools like Dot and Hunter Prime or building up other things like this forum. On that note, the admin team has been working with Tech Lizard (haha it's a play on Tech Wizard get it) @Spode to make us a nice convenient feature to keep our community between the Discord and forums connected. At our request, Spode has been working on the Forum Monitor in our #testing channel, and today we are launching it publicly.

![[Image: Z1mpwKy.png]](https://i.imgur.com/Z1mpwKy.png)

What does it do?

Generally speaking, it's a webhook that will post updates on all public posts made to the forum in #forum-posts (just below announcements on our Discord server). It includes the poster, the thread they posted in, and the timestamp (displayed in the view's local time via unix timestamp).

That's all good, but we have some specific quirks built into it to provide some real utility as well.
 - Anytime someone other than me posts in the Citizenship Application thread, it will ping me when noting the post on the Discord.

- Anytime someone other than an LDF Officer posts in the Military Application thread, it will ping the LDF Officer role when noting the post on Discord.

- Anytime someone other than a roleplay moderator/advisor posts in the RP Sign-Ups thread, it will ping the Roleplay Staff & Mentor role when noting the post on Discord.

Yay fancy technology!

Why did we make it?

Well, for one it's good to improve our infrastructure and tools apparatus and this seemed like a reasonable place to start. Two, it will hopefully help myself and LDF/RP leaders keep up with applications and sign-ups, so people don't have to wait, or things don't slip through the cracks. Three, it also has the benefit of connecting our two main off-site communication platforms, which is cool.

Hopefully all goes well, but if there's any issues with it feel free to note them in #staff-requests on Discord (or in this subforum). Be sure to thank @Spode for his work on this, it was his creation and we're greatly appreciative of it! Additional thanks to @JackEmpire and @Svedonia for assistance in the process (and the latter for hosting support), we look forward to seeing what they accomplish going forward.
