The Consulate Moving Forward |

On May 3, 2022, the Consulate of the time suddenly became one less, in need of a new member. At the time I was Director of Foreign Affairs and what a time it was. We had just transitioned from the LCN to The League a few months earlier, were going through Foreign Affairs and administrative challenges. The job was no small feat, but under Quebecshire's lead I learned the ropes and we steered the region out of one crisis after another.
It has been a profound pleasure to serve as a member of the Consulate of the Republic during our transition and to see the region prosper with the expansion of the LDF into one of the NS world's most active defender militaries, the addition of an entirely new region in Concord, and to be able to welcome and integrate so many fantastic new people to our community.
Recently, I came to the conclusion that I have gone as far as I can in this role. Due to a combination of factors such as personal obligations, a wish for the best possible leadership of the region, and feeling that I can contribute just as much as an Execuive Advisor as I do now as a Consul am handing my seat on the Consulate to someone new. I truly believe this person, who will be announced soon, will be an asset to the region and will do this job to their utmost.

Orders of the Republic
Nominations Thread
This thread is where citizens can nominate individuals to an Order of the Republic. The rules for nominations are reiterated below.
- Any citizen may nominate an individual for a given order in accordance with its eligibility in the designated nominations thread.
- Nominations must include a brief summary (roughly a paragraph) justifying the nominee's merit.
- After reaching consensus on the nomination, a Consul will reply to the nomination stating the decision to induct or reject a nominee.
- If accepted, the inductee will be announced in the Orders of the Republic status thread.
Additionally, we ask that nominations are kept to separate/individual posts, even if several are being made at the same time or in a short timespan.
Please ensure nominations are made consistent with the eligibility for this order. Frivolous posts will be removed. For admissions and removal announcements, see the Status Thread.

The League Defense Forces Rank Structure
The League Defense Forces ranks are designed to create a strong leadership structure for operation management and execution while also providing an incentive for activity among its members.
The forces are divided between officer and enlisted ranks. The enlisted are primarily responsible for participating in operations and training. They are the backbone of the LDF’s consistent and dominant participation in operations.
The officers also participate in operations and training but take on the leadership role of the force. They are responsible for the internal organization of the force, collaborate for improvement of the force, and mot importantly, plan and execute operations. If an operation takes place, it’s been spearheaded by an officer.
Enlisted Ranks:
Minutemen: The Minutemen are the initial rank of the LDF upon enlistment. The name derives from the League’s history and lore, providing a foundation for the LDF. Minutemen are charged with continual learning, active participation, and immersing themselves in the culture and conduct of the LDF. As their name suggests, they are to be ready to mobilize at a minute’s notice, providing crucial support in operations as they begin their journey in the LDF.
Cannoneers: Cannoneers are the second rank in the enlisted force structure. Cannoneers attain their rank after completing 15 updates and prove their ability to operate in arena and competently carry out orders of the officer above them. Achieving the rank of Cannoneer is an important step in the career of an LDF member. The individual has taken their enlistment seriously and have shown consistent investment in military gameplay. They have proven their reliability and have made it past the initial stepping stone.
Flagbearers: Flagbearers are the senior most enlisted rank in the LDF. Individuals attain the rank of Flagbearer by attending 40 updates and haven proven their ability to operate at the higher level. They are charged with providing the crucial foundation of personnel needed to pull off an operation. They have demonstrated their reliability and are often looked to by the officers to assist in operations or are given opportunities to prove themselves at a higher level. The Flagbearer rank is a sign of dedication and are thus carrying the flag of which upholds the values of the cause.
Officer Ranks:
Lieutenant: The Lieutenant rank is the first of the officer ranks. An individual attains their rank by being selected for the officer training program by higher ranking officers. Typically Lieutenants are chosen from the Cannoneer rank at a minimum but more often Flagbearer, depending on the circumstances and what the individual has demonstrated. These individuals have shown they can consistently update, be a reliable and competent military member, but also show promise in their organizational and leadership skills. Lieutenants are charged with learning what goes into planning and executing operations as well as learning how to run and make decisions internally for the LDF.
Colonel: The Colonel rank is the second of the officer ranks. Colonels have proven themselves as competent organizers and leaders of the LDF as well as represented the LDF well in joint operations, for example, in Libcord. The Colonel rank is among the officer leadership team and is typically given more hefty responsibilities in both the internal administration of the LDF but primarily in leading operations.
General: The General rank is the highest among the officer ranks. Individuals attain the General rank upon proving their undeniable central leadership of the LDF as well as being a crucial pillar in the joint operations communities. Generals have the responsibility of planning and leading operations and are expected to perform at a much higher level, often making decisions or participating in collaboration on decisions intended for the entire joint operations community. The General rank is rare as it is the central figure of the LDF.
Consul: When applicable, a Consul role serves as the commander-in-chief of The League Defense Forces and a representative of the heads of state. While important and often ideal, it is not required for a Consul to be within the military structure.
