Terraconserva Roleplay Sign-Up Form

Overview

The Terraconserva Roleplay Association (TRA) is The League and Concord’s worldbuilding-focused roleplay! Since it’s establishment in 2019, Terraconserva has served as a focal point for regional engagement, and has been referenced in several pieces of legislation recognized by the World Assembly, and currently has over 40 nations on the map!

Roleplaying is primarily done by making Wikipedia-style pages on our regional wiki, current events are posted on The League’s Regional Message Board (RMB), and planning and coordination is done in the TRA channels on the regional discord server.

Regional Wiki: https://wiki.theleague-ns.com/wiki/Main_Page
The League’s RMB: https://www.nationstates.net/page=displa...the_league
Invite Link to the Regional Discord Server: https://discord.gg/jrpFunX

Applying to Join

Every prospective player is asked to answer some start-up questions. These questions establish the basic information for your RP nation, as well as help us determine where you would belong on our map. Your answers do not have to correlate with your NationStates stats, but you can use some of them as inspiration if you so desire. To officially sign up, please respond in this thread with your answers to the below questions.

Identifying Information

  1. What is your nation on NationStates?
  2. What is your Discord username (example: Username#1234)?

General Information (important)

Please be realistic and reasonable, roleplay staff will help you work out finer details based on your responses. You can change some answers later if need be, this is just to get you started.

  1. What is your country's name?
  2. What is your capital city's name?
  3. What population should your nation have? (Disclaimer: should be *under* 100 million)
  4. What government type is your country in present day? (Republic, dictatorship, etc.)
  5. What is your nation's main language and culture? (Disclaimer: do not pick English unless located next to Jackson)
  6. Take a look at our map. Let us know where you'd like your nation and capital city to be. A description or image submission is fine. Claims should not appear larger than nations such as Kivu, Jackson, and Baltanla. [/color]

Take your time and really think about your answers to these questions. Your answers can be changed at a later date, but the more thought and detail you put into your answers will really help you in the long run.

If you need absolutely any help with this form, feel free to contact a roleplay staff member on Discord. Contact information can be found in the Roleplay Overview & Staff thread

After your application has been submitted, an available staff member will then contact you as soon as possible, to complete the process and help with any changes that may need to be made!

Council of the Republic Leadership Restructuring Act
Proposed by New Illyricum
(Click here for best viewing experience!)

Preamble:

Recognizing the need for leadership and direction for the Council of the Republic,

Noting the shaky history of Council of the Republic leadership,

Ensuring the ability of all members of the Council of the Republic to legislate and lead;

The Government of the League and Concord hereby:

Reestablishes the position of Speaker of the Council, officially to be known as the Speaker of the Council of the Republic,

Limits the term of the Speaker to three months, renewable once consecutively, or until the end of a legislative term, if the term should expire prior to the three month term,

Establishes election procedure for the Speaker as follows:

I. Elections shall be held 24 hours after the expiration of each Speaker term, and will be held 48 hours following the passage of this act.

II. Elections will be set-up and monitored by the Consulate.

III. Candidates for election must formally declare their candidacy and be verified by the Consulate prior to the opening of voting.

IV. The voting process shall be such that every voter has the opportunity to rank relatively every candidate put forward, with all vote slates being counted equally.

V. If, overall, two or fewer candidates put themselves forward for the position, a simple majority vote shall be used instead of a ranked slate.

VI. For the process of tabulation, a points system shall be used, in which the candidate with the most points shall be speaker-elect. For the purpose of this, a vote for a candidate marked as the voter's first preference shall be counted in terms of points as equivalent to the total number of candidates who put themselves forward for the position. The second level preference shall be counted as the total number of candidates minus one, repeated in steps of one for each lower level of preference on the voter's slate.

VII. Voting shall last for 48 hours.

Grants the Speaker the following powers:

I. To initiate and encourage wider participation in Council of the Republic deliberations,

II. To administrate all voting procedures held within the Council of the Republic.

III. To contact and encourage Citizens of The League and Concord to apply to join the Council of the Republic.

Allows the Council of the Republic to impeach the Speaker of the Council under the following conditions;

I. The Speaker has served for at least 10 days.

II. The Council of the Republic votes via over a two-thirds majority to remove the Speaker.

III. The Consulate does not overrule impeachment proceedings.

Grants the Consulate the right to remove the Speaker of the Council without a Council-vote, withstanding that the reason(s) for the removal are clearly stated.

Andusre/SkyGreen Win Europeian Presidential Elections
In a decisive victory, Andusre/SkyGreen swept their way to Goldenblock, notching up 40 (62.5%) votes against the opposing Gem/JayDee campaign's 24 (37.5) votes. While two out of the three polls conducted by the Europeian Broadcasting Corporation predicted a strong Andusre/SkyGreen victory, the last set of polls conducted by the EBC immediately after the presidential debate indicated a much tighter race and even a potential Gem/JayDee surprise, a far cry from the eventual outcome. Read more about the election here...

President Andusre and Vice-President SkyGreen announced their Cabinet live to an eager EBC Radio audience. With a mix of experienced and new faces, this is how the cabinet shaped out to be:

Consulate Order Amending the Council Terms and Sessions Act
Posted by: gagium - 07-06-2025, 03:29 AM - Forum: Laws and Motions - No Replies

Consulate Order Amending the Council Terms and Sessions Act
Preamble:
Through the Constitution of the Republic, the Council of the Republic is empowered to petition the Consulate to implement regional policies through formally convened votes (III.II.I) Subsequently, the Consulate has the authority to issue Consulate Orders that outline change in said regional policy (II.II.XII) that is passed by the Council of the Republic through the form of Acts.

The Consulate of the Republic, while working with the original author of the Council Terms and Sessions Act, has come to the conclusion that the legislated Council votes for independent reviewers to carry out a post-term mandatory review process is redundant in the case of exactly three reviewers putting themselves forward. Furthermore, the Council Terms and Sessions Act does not include a provision for the case of less than three members of the Council putting themselves forward for the process.

The Office of the Consulate Hereby:
Inserts the following under Clause 5 of the Council Terms and Sessions Act:

i. In the case of exactly three Council Delegates putting themselves forward as prospective reviewers, there shall be no non-transferable vote and the three prospective reviewers are empowered to begin carrying out the review 72 hours after the closure of a legislative term.

ii. In the case of less than three Council Delegates putting themselves forward as prospective reviewers, the Consulate of the Republic may select willing members of the Consulate or Council of the Republic to serve as reviewers. Once a total of three prospective reviewers exist, the three are empowered to begin carrying out the review 72 hours after the closure of a legislative term.
