Treaty of the Grouse by Grea Kriopia

Europeia and the Outback are thrilled to announce they have ratified The Treaty of the Grouse, a bilateral treaty signifying the close friendship between the two regions. The close working relationship began not long after the Outback requested support from Europeia to help secure the Delegacy and to improve integration of new nations; since then the two regions have collaborated closely on foreign affairs and recruitment. They are thrilled to formalize this cooperation in a new treaty and look forward to our regions' continued support of one another well into the future.

Rebuttal Regarding the Outback by Andy

The blowback against the inflammatory early April statement issued by NPO/LWU/AA began quickly, with the West Pacific (TWP) delegate Varanius leading the charge in Rebuttal Regarding The Outback. Signed by TWP, TO, the Plains of Perdition (Perdition), Europeia, The North Pacific (TNP) and Balder, the statement incandescently counters the narratives put forward against Bran’s delegacy and scathes the trio for their actions interfering in a sovereign region’s internal affairs. It concludes with an announcement of TWP’s withdrawal from its bilateral treaty with LWU and from the Pax Polaris Occidens (PPO).

FrontierFest by United Vietussia

From April 16th to April 21st, Europeia hosted the first-ever FrontierFest inviting frontiers and strongholds alike to convene for a festival about the F/S update. The events included radio shows, movie night, contests, roleplay sharing, and a frontier showcase where attendees visited a different frontier region each day. FrontierFest conveniently fell on the second anniversary of the Frontier/Stronghold update drop, bringing attendees together to reflect upon how Nationstates has changed since the update and build new friendships across the increasingly diverse frontier landscape. While a majority of events focused on entertainment and making new friends, the two radio shows hosted discussions on region-building the F/S era and pre vs post-F/S update expectations for more substantive discussion on F/S.

Presidential Elections by Andy

As is tradition, Europeia returned to the voting booth on May 9 to elect a new President. Incumbent President Grea Kriopia (GK) had stated her intention not to seek a third term in her State of the Republic address approximately one month before the election, drumming up quiet speculation about who would gun for the top job. Two contenders rose to stake their claims: Ervald and Sincluda. The former is a long-time member of the region and has previously served in several high-profile positions, including the Delegate of Europeia and more recently as GK’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. The latter is a tried and tested Europeian statesman who served as GK’s Vice President after multiple successful terms in positions like the Grand Admiralty. The campaign ensued with many fresh ideas being brought to the forefront, whilst Ervald and Sincluda picked Kuramia and PhDre as their running mates respectively. The Ervald/Kuramia campaign suggested a symposium to discuss disability on NationStates and the establishment of a gaming commission; the Sincluda/PhDre team proposed renegotiating Europeia’s positioning in certain parts of the NationStates world and stressed the importance of bridging the gap between the region’s on- and off-site communities.

When voters went to the polls, they delivered a landslide victory for the Ervald/Kuramia campaign, which accrued 50 of the 64 votes cast (78.1%). The new president got to work quickly implementing his agenda and nominating his cabinet, all of whom have now stuck their teeth into the work of the term after securing confirmation by the Europeian Senate.

Modern Gameplay Compact and The Leftist Assembly Issue Joint Statement by Grea Kriopia

Europeia along with its partners in the Modern Gameplay Contact released a statement on the withdrawal of The Leftist Assembly (TLA) from active conflict with the Modern Gameplay Contact and the lifting of sanctions placed upon the region. This move was accelerated by The Communist Bloc (TCB) declaring they would be leaving the NSLeft, an alliance of leftist regions that TCB and TLA were part of. The statement issued a series of acknowledgments from both sides including TLA's withdrawal from conflict with the MGC and any affiliation with Raider Unity groups, the MGC relieving sanctions imposed on TLA, and a tentative commitment to future negotiations on the de-occupation and return of Solidarity.

ERN Captures Repeat Victories in Military Gameplay by Grea Kriopia

The last few weeks have held intense military gameplay activity, and, for the ERN, the wins just kept coming following the victorious liberation of Lonia Kreptia Llor (LKL), Dystopian Utopia, and the successful raid of Frutiger. In LKL, the New Pacific Order and Lone Wolves United occupied with a force of 140 only to be rebuffed by 212 liberators in the largest liberation in known history with Link17 ERN sailors participating. Then, Dystopian Utopia was seized by Raider Unity with 103 endos Linkonly to be liberated in a single update by 154 liberators from a multitude of regions, including 8 ERN sailors. Afterwards, the ERN and its friends in The League & Concord, 10000 Islands, The West Pacific, and more turned to Frutiger -- A frontier with officers openly piling on Lone Wolves United operations. A Link43 endo stage struck the region with little resistance and is actively occupying the region.
