Additional Actions on the Leak by Ervald

On January 27th, President Moon announced in the Goldenblock that after mediation with Lazarus, they have issued a public apology regarding their actions in regards to possessing knowledge of Ernest Drake’s infiltration and not promptly informing Europeia. It included retractions of several statements Lazarus made and the president remarked “...our relationship cannot be resurrected back to what it once was…this resolution will ensure we can move on past this saga and finally look forward.” Additionally, President Moon announced the region of Sancturia will be added to the proscribed regions list. Sancturia is the successor to Liberlandia, a region founded and led by Ernest Drake (ED) up until the reveal of his infiltration in Europeia. Despite ED stepping back in activity, the region has been used as a congregation spot of former Raider Unity and Lone Wolves United members.

January Senate Election by Malaxa

This month saw elections for the 103rd session of the Senate held with eight citizens ultimately putting themselves forward. Most platforms focused on plans to dissolve the Approval Voting apparatus which has been in place for over a year and offering alternatives to be explored but one notable candidate went so far as to issue a platform with 45 quick points! Lively discussions were had throughout the campaign and Election Day ended with five victors: Sopo, HEM, Comfed, Pichvi, and McEntire who was also selected as Speaker. The newly elected Senate wasted little time and immediately set to work changing the electoral process for the Republic and is actively engaged in discussions across a wide range of areas.

People’s Assembly Update by Ervald

PA Chair Cordova I continued to hold polls on superlatives for the region such as regional food and sport while Peeps proposed a bill in the assembly to abolish the People’s Assembly. While a vocal minority supported its abolition, many voted against the proposal with the hope that reforming the institution could improve its usage. Chair Cordova I subsequently started a conversation on potential membership reform such as requiring an application to be a member and higher activity requirements such as endorsing the delegate or joining a ministry.
