Roleplayer of the Year: Awarded to the individual who has shown the most dedication to worldbuilding and roleplay over the past year.

LDF Member of the Year: Awarded to the individual who has shown the most dedication to participating in the LDF over the past year. LDF officers are not included (eligible) for this award.

Politician of the Year: Awarded to the individual who has shown the most dedication to regional government over the past year.

Newcomer of the Year: Awarded to the most dedicated individual who joined the community within the past year.

Terraconserva Award: Awarded to three individuals who have been active in roleplay over the past year.

LDF Award: Awarded to three individuals who have been active in the LDF over the past year.

Welcomer Award: Awarded to an individual who has gone out of their way to help newcomers get involved in the community.

Teams will be divided into an Ecros Division and an Ostlandet Division based on their home cities, with Commissioners' discretion to ensure divisions are balanced Surian teams will be placed wherever is most convenient for division balancing, though in the event there is no balance need, they will be deferred to Ecros to reduce travel distance - we're a pro-environment league, after all.

Structure

Teams will be divided into an Ecros Division and Ostlandet Division based on their home cities, with Commissioners' discretion to ensure divisions are balanced Surian teams will be placed wherever is most convenient for division balancing, though in the event there is no balance need, they will be deferred to Ecros to reduce travel distance - we're a pro-environment league, after all.

This thread will be for league chatter, news, or whatever else released by the teams!

The League and Concord - 8th Anniversary Festival


Introduction and Plot
As a member nation of the League and Concord Alliance, an alliance that transcends time and space to connect nations across the multiverse, you're invited to send a delegate to the Prosperity Summit, an annual meeting between nations of TL&C designed to promote trade and peace between its member states. This is made possible thanks to the Rodier-Akhalaia Protocol Warp, an experimental teleportation device created by scientists in Gagium. After several years of research and testing, the first Warp system has finally been completed, allowing nations across the multiverse to send their delegates to the Prosperity Summit, hosted in the Gagian city of Fort-Anfree!

However, all is not as it seems. While development of the Rodier-Akhalaia Protocol Warp was kept a secret, the development of such an advanced technology quickly attracted unwanted attention. Hackers quickly discovered a flaw in the technology - while it was intended to teleport individuals from anywhere to a specific point, it could also be hacked into to teleport a concentrated group of people - for example, those attending the Prosperity Summit - to pretty much anywhere in the multiverse. With this in mind, mysterious forces working in the shadows labored tirelessly to set up a trap for the Prosperity Summit's delegates. They created a compound that was believed to be impossible to escape from, filled with mystery, danger, cosmic horrors, and even...humor?

And thus, the scene for the 1st Annual Prosperity Summit was set. One by one, delegates from across the League and Concord arrived, completely unaware of the trials they would be put through in order to have even a chance of returning to their home nations safely.

Rules:
  1. No godmodding or metagaming. Considering many of us may be unfamiliar with how character-based roleplay operates, I expect there to be some hiccups or confusion, but you are expected to roleplay as if you're in the shoes of your character (i.e. no knowing stuff that your character wouldn't know, don't do anything too overpowered, etc.)
  2. This roleplay isn't expected to be 100% realistic and you're allowed to apply with a character that wouldn't work in a roleplay like Terraconserva. That being said, you will be rejected if you apply with a character that's overpowered, and you will be removed from the roleplay if you can't follow rules consistently. 
  3. As this roleplay will primarily be taking place on discord, it is subject to all the server rules. Please refrain from posting anything too innappropriate.
  4. Be respectful to all other roleplayers and, most importantly, have fun!

As a part of the 8th Anniversary Festival in celebration of all that we've been able to achieve in the 8 years we've existed as a community, the 8th Anniversary Awards is the first event of its kind, designed to recognize and honor those who have contributed significantly to the community over the past year. Even a few years ago, it was impossible for most of us to imagine how far we'd grow as a community, becoming one of the more prominent defender communities and having an active roleplay of over forty nations. None of this would've been possible if not for the dozens of people who have helped shape The League and Concord into the community that it is today.

Note: For all intents and purposes, the 'past year' in award descriptions refers to the period ranging from 1 April 2023 to the present.'

Awards will be split into two categories - those that will be voted on and non-voting awards. The awards shown below are awards in which you're free to nominate others for, and then from April 12 through the 16th you'll be able to vote on who wins these awards from the list of those nominated. On the contrast, the non-voting awards will be awarded to individuals based on specific measurable feats/contributions, and won't be up for a vote. These awards (and their winners) won't be announced until April 17.

TL&C will be running a pick’em contest for the 2024 NFL Playoffs in this thread. In a pick’em contest, basically all you do is choose winners for each of the games happening in the upcoming week. I’ve added a few things, bonuses mostly, that will hopefully make it even more fun. 

On Wednesdays for the remainder of the NFL season, I will open the submissions for the week by posting a message that will list the games you’ll be picking winners from and the weekly question.

The Rules

The rules for this contest are very simple.

1. Submissions must be properly formatted (Shown below in the Submitting Section) to be eligible for scoring.

2. You may change your picks at any point before the kickoff of the game; picks changed after kickoff will not be scored. 

Scoring
  • Two points for picking the correct winner
  • One point for picking a team that loses in overtime


Bonuses
  • Solo Bonus: Being the only person to pick the correct team to win. Worth 4 points
  • Lock Bonus: Each week, you choose the team that you are most confident will win. However, here's the catch: you can only designate a team as your lock once. For example, if you picked the Bills in week 1, you cannot choose them again for the remainder of the season. You earn 3 points if your Lock Team wins, but you lose 3 points if they lose.
  • Perfect Game Bonus: Selecting the correct winner and scores for both teams in any game. Worth 5 points
  • Question Bonus: Each week a random question about the upcoming week’s games will be asked. Worth 1 point, if the question is answered correctly

]]> TL&C NFL Playoff Pick’em Challenge
TL&C will be running a pick’em contest for the 2024 NFL Playoffs in this thread. In a pick’em contest, basically all you do is choose winners for each of the games happening in the upcoming week. I’ve added a few things, bonuses mostly, that will hopefully make it even more fun. 

On Wednesdays for the remainder of the NFL season, I will open the submissions for the week by posting a message that will list the games you’ll be picking winners from and the weekly question.

The Rules

The rules for this contest are very simple.

1. Submissions must be properly formatted (Shown below in the Submitting Section) to be eligible for scoring.

2. You may change your picks at any point before the kickoff of the game; picks changed after kickoff will not be scored. 

Scoring
  • Two points for picking the correct winner
  • One point for picking a team that loses in overtime


Bonuses
  • Solo Bonus: Being the only person to pick the correct team to win. Worth 4 points
  • Lock Bonus: Each week, you choose the team that you are most confident will win. However, here's the catch: you can only designate a team as your lock once. For example, if you picked the Bills in week 1, you cannot choose them again for the remainder of the season. You earn 3 points if your Lock Team wins, but you lose 3 points if they lose.
  • Perfect Game Bonus: Selecting the correct winner and scores for both teams in any game. Worth 5 points
  • Question Bonus: Each week a random question about the upcoming week’s games will be asked. Worth 1 point, if the question is answered correctly

To submit your predictions for the week, you must post your predictions in thread below using the following format.
