The Space Shuttle Columbia disaster was a fatal accident in the United States space program that occurred on February 1, 2003. During the STS-107 mission, Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated as it reentered the atmosphere over Texas, killing all seven astronauts on board. The mission was the second that ended in disaster in the Space Shuttle program after the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986, which killed all seven crew members during ascent.
During the STS-107 launch, a piece of the insulative foam broke off from the Space Shuttle external tank and struck the thermal protection system tiles on the orbiter's left wing. Similar foam shedding had occurred during previous Space Shuttle launches, causing damage that ranged from minor to near-catastrophic, but some engineers suspected that the damage to Columbia was more serious. Before reentry, NASA managers had limited the investigation, reasoning that the crew could not have fixed the problem if it had been confirmed. When Columbia reentered the atmosphere of Earth, the damage allowed hot atmospheric gases to penetrate the heat shield and destroy the internal wing structure, which caused the orbiter to become unstable and break apart.
After the disaster, Space Shuttle flight operations were suspended for more than two years, as they had been after the Challenger disaster. Construction of the International Space Station (ISS) was paused until flights resumed in July 2005 with STS-114. NASA made several technical and organizational changes to subsequent missions, including adding an on-orbit inspection to determine how well the orbiter's thermal protection system (TPS) had endured the ascent, and keeping a designated rescue mission ready in case irreparable damage was found. Except for one mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope, subsequent Space Shuttle missions were flown only to the ISS to allow the crew to use it as a haven if damage to the orbiter prevented safe reentry; the remaining orbiters were retired after the ISS was finished.

Andrei Karlov, the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, was assassinated by Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş, an off-duty Turkish police officer,[3] at an art exhibition in Ankara, Turkey on the evening of 19 December 2016. The assassination took place after several days of protests in Turkey over Russian involvement in the Syrian Civil War and the battle over Aleppo.[4][5][6]

Rainbow Dash is a blue pegasus with pink eyes and a rainbow-colored mane and tail. Her cutie mark, a rainbow-colored lightning bolt with a cloud, represents her talent for speed and her obsession with adventure. Her goal at the beginning of the series is to join her "heroes", the elite Wonderbolts aerobatic team. She later joins the Wonderbolts as a trainee in "Wonderbolts Academy". She soon became a reservist in "Testing Testing 1, 2, 3" and then a full-time member in "Newbie Dash". She helps other pegasi manage the weather around Ponyville and spends her time practicing flight maneuvers such as the "Sonic Rainboom", a rainbow-colored sonic boom. In "The Cutie Mark Chronicles", Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom as a filly caused a chain of events that produced the group's cutie marks. She lives with a propeller-fitted pet tortoise named Tank in a floating condominium of clouds called the Cloudominium, which is sparingly seen in the show because she "doesn't sit still for very long", according to the director Jim Miller.
Faust struggled to find a suitable aspect for Rainbow Dash's Element of Harmony, seeing the character as "self-absorbed and rather irresponsible". She eventually settled on the Element of Loyalty because it "brought out [Rainbow Dash's] positive traits".[8]

Queen Chrysalis (voiced by Kathleen Barr) – The former leader of the changelings, a race of insectoid shape-shifters that feed off of ponies' love for each other. She first appears in season two's two-part finale, "A Canterlot Wedding", when she invades Canterlot by impersonating Princess Cadance to control her fiancé Shining Armor, only for her and her changeling army to be driven off by the couple's combined magic. She returns in season six's two-part finale, "To Where and Back Again", when she captures all of Equestria's protectors in another attempt to take over the kingdom but is defeated by Starlight and Thorax and dethroned as Queen of the changelings. After her defeat, Chrysalis swears revenge on Starlight and flees. In "The Mean 6", she creates evil clones of Twilight and her friends to seize control of the Elements of Harmony and exact her revenge on Starlight, but her plan fails when the clones betray her and are destroyed by the Tree of Harmony. In season nine's two-part premiere, "The Beginning of the End", Chrysalis is summoned by Grogar to join him in his plot to take over Equestria. After recovering Grogar's Bewitching Bell, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow decide to work together to betray Grogar and take Equestria for themselves. In the season's two-part finale, "The Ending of the End", they use the magic of the Bewitching Bell to make themselves all-powerful and take over Equestria, but are eventually defeated by Twilight and her friends, as well as turned into stone as punishment for their crimes.
Character designer Rebecca Dart drew Chrysalis and the other changelings with an insect-like design after reading the character's name in the script, drawing inspiration from manga artists Junko Mizuno and Hideshi Hino.[87]

We have come under attack from an enemy most would not even think capable of such a heinous deed: The League. Though they purport to be defenders, they have disrupted a Thneedville-led operation against the Islamic States. This aggression cannot and will not be allowed to stand. Unless The League submits to our demands, we will have no choice but to declare war on not only them, but their allies: The Order of the Grey Wardens, 10000 Islands, Europeia, The Mystical Alliance, Declansburg, and The Union of Democratic States.
Our demands are as follows:
1. Rhaza (aka Quebecshire) formally apologises for banjecting me and falsely claiming credit for a Thneedville-led operation, as well as his related conduct.
2. Rhaza (aka Quebecshire) stands down from any and all roles of responsibility in The League and does not accept any such office on any nation for a period of one (1) year.
3. The League give Thneedville full credit for leading the invasion of the Islamic States.
4. The League apologise for having wasting the Security Council's time with an unneeded liberation, even demanding that others withdraw their proposals so it could pass as quickly as possible, and then taking days to turn up while Thneedville forces arrived before the resolution had even passed.
5. The League rebrand as "The League (formerly The League of Conservative Nations)".
These demands are not extreme. They are incredibly generous on our part.
In addition, I am demanding a formal apology from League ally The Order of the Grey Wardens. One of their members, The Aituia, has sent me a telegram with the text 'Book in Serbian'. For those not aware, 'book' as it translates into Serbo-Croat sounds like the N-word, the most offensive racial slur in the English language. This is frankly disgusting and they should be ashamed of harbouring such individuals in their region.
We await The League's decision, for what they decide will mean either peace... or war.
